Jer-Shung Lin 林哲雄

Dr. Lin was born in I-Lan in 1939. He graduated from National Taiwan University with a M.D. degree and was trained as a pediatric resident for three years in New York. He practiced pediatrics in Long Island for seven years and worked for CIGNA and Universal Care Medical Group in Southern California for eighteen years. He is currently a pediatrician at Mennonite Hospital in Hualien that specializes in caring the poor and aboriginal tribes of Taiwan.

Special Achievement

Dr. Lin is devoted to advocating Taiwanese culture thus earning himself a reputation as a "Culture Doctor". He has written and edited many books and articles on the subjects of western culture when he was young and Taiwanese culture after he came to the U.S. He founded Taiwan Publishing Co., which have published over forty books with topics ranging from Taiwanese culture, to biographies and autobiographies of many famous Taiwanese. His endless pursuit of Taiwanese culture contributed greatly in the nourishment and prosperity of Taiwanese literature and has garnered many Taiwanese musicians, painters and other artists a setting in the world stage.
