David Ho 何大一

Dr. Ho was
born in Taichung, Taiwan in 1952, graduated from California Institute of
Technology with a B.S. degree and from Harvard Medical School with a M.D.
degree. He completed his residency and later became a physician and research
scientist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and UCLA in Los Angeles, and was a
clinical and research fellow in Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard
University. Currently, he is Scientific Director and Chief Executive Officer
at Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center. He was elected as a member of Academia
Sinica in Taiwan.
Special Achievement
Dr. Ho is a world-renowned medical scientist who in 1996
developed what is known as the "Cocktail Drug Therapy" to stop the HIV virus
reproductive process, leading to the first internationally known successful
treatment of AIDS patients. His find made long-awaited world news and made him
the TIME magazine's man of the year in 1996. He is extremely talented in
medical research and has written or co-authored more than 150 scientific
articles and won many prizes and awards. His contribution to the AIDS
treatment around the world is enormous.
