Shih-Tao Yeh 葉石濤

 

Mr. Yeh was born in Tainan, in 1925. He graduated from Tainan First High School. He was an elementary school teacher and an adviser of the Teacher Human Rights Advocate Committee in Kaohsiung as well as an advisor for the Literature Writing Committee, and was a committee member of Wu Zuo-Liu Literature Award Evaluation Committee.

Special Achievement

He authored "Taiwan Folk Writer Collection", "Journey of Recovering Sulphur", "Spring Dream of Hu-Lu Street", "Musical Instrument of Carce", and "The Qualifications of Writers". As a pioneer of Taiwan folk writing, he leads the style of literature commendation. His wide ranging essays and novels have promoted Taiwan's creative writing as well as the people's appreciation of their own literature. Being righteous and diligent, Mr. Yeh has devoted himself to a half-century of literature writings.
