Roland P. Brown 薄柔纜

Dr. Brown
was born in Hebei Porvince, China in 1920. He graduated from Bethel College,
and received his M.D. from University of Chicago.
Special Achievement
Dr. Brown established the Mennonite Christian Hospital in
Hualien, Taiwan and served the poor and the ill people in Hualien for over
thirty-eight years. He was the first doctor in Taiwan to start mobile clinics
to provide primary care networks for the aborigines. He is also the first to
establish the general-practice residency-training program for interns and
medical students in Taiwan. His pioneering work in Hualien and his public
health concept laid a good foundation for providing primary care on the entire
island.
