Ming-Chang Lin 林明璋

 

Dr. Lin was born in Hsinchu in 1936. He graduated from Taiwan Normal University, and received his Ph.D. from University of Ottawa, Canada. He was a senior scientist at US Naval research Laboratory, a postdoctoral research associate at Cornell University. Currently, he holds R.W Woodruff professorship of Physical Chemistry at Emory University, Atlanta, GA 

Special Achievement

Dr. Lin has made great contributions in chemical laser research; he has discovered over two dozen new chemical laser systems involving the reactions of excited and ground state oxygen atoms and developed various application methods to generate high power chemical lasers. He won six prizes and awards due to his invaluable contribution to the area of chemical laser research. His research achievement and his teaching serve as an exemplary model to the younger generation, and his meticulous scholar manner is worthy of emulation.
