Yuan-Tseh Lee 李遠哲

Dr. Lee
was born in Sinchu in 1936. He graduated from National Taiwan University
with a BS degree in Chemistry and from Ching-Hua University with an MS
degree in Engineering, and later he received his Ph.D. from UC Berkley. He
was a professor at UC Berkley, and currently he is the President of Academia
Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan
Special Achievement
Dr. Lee is by far the most internationally recognized
Taiwanese scientist. His remarkable research contributions on Molecular
Beams led him and two of his colleagues to earn the Nobel Prize in Chemistry
in 1986. He had been praised as an extremely creative and hard working
researcher. He contributed greatly to the understanding of molecular
dynamics and their applications in the modern semiconductor industry.
