LAUREATE
Tsung-Yi Lin 林宗義

Dr. Lin was
born in Tainan, in 1920. He graduated from Japan Tokyo Imperial University
with a M.D. degree. He was a professor at the Medical School in National
Taiwan University and the Director of the Psychiatry Department, the adviser
of the Psychiatric Study at World Health Organization, Professor of Psychiatry
at University of Michigan, and Professor of Psychiatry at Canada University of
British Columbia. He is also an honored professor at Tokyo University and at
Peking Medical School, and an honored Chief Executive of the World
Psychiatrist Association.
Special Achievement
Dr. Lin helped establish the Psychiatry Department at
National Taiwan University Medical School and is the pioneer of the Taiwan
Psychiatry education. Besides promoting psychiatry education in Taiwan, he
prepared and cultivated teaching resources for psychiatry and mental health
education and contributed greatly to Taiwan's psychiatry science. Dr. Lin has
published several books and over a hundred articles describing his research in
Psychiatry. His research is widely recognized in the world and has earned him
a reputation as a world class psychiatrist.
