Mr. Chung was born in Long-Tan, Taoyuang, in 1925. He graduated from Changhua Young Normal College, and attended classes in the Department of Chinese at National Taiwan University. He was the publisher and chief editor of Taiwan Literature Magazine, director and chief Editor of the Supplement section in Residence Daily, teacher of Long-Tan Elementary School, and instructor of Tunghai University.

Special Achievement

Mr Chung is a productive author. His most famous writings, " Taiwan in three stages", and " Biography of Zuo-Liu in three stages" used contemporary society and especially the countryside as the backdrop, describing hard-working and unyielding people who are seeking their future during three different political stages. Those writings, which created new images and a newfound spirit of Taiwan, has become one of the most valuable writings of Taiwan's countryside literatures. As a pioneer in Taiwan's writings of the countryside, Mr. Chung oftentimes encourages and assists literature fellows to advance in their career and helps promote the younger writers.
