1984 SCIENTIFIC AND ENGINEERING AWARD  LAUREATE

Kun-Mu Chen 陳坤木

Dr. Chen was born in Taipei in 1933. He graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in Electric Engineering, and from Harvard University with a Master and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. He is a research fellow and a professor of Electric Engineering at Michigan State University, a Fellow of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a Fellow of American Association for the advancement of Science (AAAS).

Special Achievement

Dr. Chen has been conducting basic and applied research in the areas of Electromagnetics, Plasma Physics, and Bio-Electromagnetics for over thirty years. He has made great contributions in the development of scheme in minimizing radar cross sections, the development of theory on electroacoustic wave in the plasma, and the development of a theoretical method for studying bioelctromagnetics.  In 1976, he received the distinguished Faulty Award from Michigan State University.
